reebok tr2 premierrun tread mill?

Our family treadmill has been slipping (or stuttering) when being run on at a reasonable running speed. It feels like it regularly sticks and then continues which means you cant run on it safely. The belt runs very freely with no one on it. Can you help me please to solve this. I have no idea at all.
