ford escort turbo desel astate car r reg ?

long time since I done one of these and am guessing it has an auto adjuster on it,later models changed to an allen key adjuster,the pedal shaft has a couple of horshoe clips to remove to withdraw shaft to remove pedal,if you are changing the pawl and ratchet assy then would advise to renew the shaft bushes also whilst you are there,you can hang the heavy spring from the ratchet assy and the shaft goes in easier without that tension on it,get a bit of welding wire with a hook to refit spring to pedal when built up,good luck
