Hotpoint Ultima Dishwasher DEMO light displays. ?

Hotpoint Optima Dishwasher . (Approx 9 years old) , The DIsplay light reads DEMO and unable to use the machine in any programme selected for wash cycle.DEMO light stays on along with a bleap noise that is heard every minute or so.
