Mend AEG 88840 Machine Years Ago

AEG Lavamat 88840 update noisy spin?

When we first had this machine about 5 years ago, it was really quiet, even when spinning fast. Nowadays it sometimes makes a loud squeaking rattling sound and shakes a lot. Could there be some device that is supposed to stop a spin if it is badly out of balance? It sometimes spins OK.

when you remove back panel look out for brown water stains, if you see these you have bearing failure, but from your description it might be down to shock absorber wear or a loose drum counter weight, if a shock looks oily its probably worn.( if the machine spins quietly when empty its prob the shock or weights)
