when its idleing on side stand its ok if i rev it it gets to about 2.5k an i get a rattle if i stand it up it revs to about 3.5k b4 it rattles but if i pull in the clutch an put it into first i can rev it to its limit an nothing i can also feel it when i ride it

Yes you do, as the gearbox is housed inside the engine casing, What's the fault with your gearbox ? Most gear problems can be related too the gear selection tension spring which is an easy repair .
