fix my Peugeot 307 hdi rapier?

HELP MY 307 WONT ACCELERATE!!!!!!!!!
hi i had a knocking noise coming from front driver side and there was a resistance in my steering at various times while in motion, there is also a somewhat loud clunking that occurs after accelerating out of each gear change, the car will go thru gears fine but will now not accelerate it just sounds like its in neutral. can you make any repair suggestions or is it better to look for a new car??????
