belling countrychef 100cm oven door retaining screw problem?

Hi have a problem with left hand fan oven door top hinge,looks like the two right hand screws tap into some sort of metal retaining plate have taken the two screws out and now they wont screw back in and I cannot' line the plate up to accept the screws.Do I need to start pulling the cooker apart or is there a simpler solution to getting the screws back in thanks.
