I got this fault after the machine had stood unused for a few months (I have 2..one is a spare for when the other goes wrong!!) I believe F15 could be a number of things but the loud clicking noise was the contrarotating gears changing mechanism struggling to do its lob as the 'ramps' were too dry..I removed large round disk held in place with a screw, emoved the belt and lubricated the ramp mechanism with silicone oil...worksd a treat (manually worked the mechanism a few times with the motor removed...1 screw it remove)

Thanks for info, it worked fine now i can try and find the fault,and maybe save some cash, its a pity dyson would not give me any info, it does not make me want to endorse there products if you have to keep paying call out fees.Regards John

F15 Fault code means a mechanical or electrical fault possilbly the servo motor for the contra rotator .This is situated behind the back panel at the bottom of the drum .It drives a gear which "changes gear" if this is faulty it cannot engage
it may also mean other things best way to fault find is to sit and watch the machine and see what its trying to do just before it shuts down

Switch the machine off with the 'Mains On/Off' button, then press first the 'Temperature' button whilst switching the machine back on, then the 'Soil type' button within 6 seconds, one at a time, not both together. If you are not quick enough you will have to switch off and start again. a diagnostic screen should then come up telling you a code number for the fault. now you can switch the machine off, then on again, and it should have now re-set an be working (unless the fault is a serious one). let me know if this works for your fault, as it does for many of them.
