How Do I reset a F4 Error on my DYSON Contrarotator Washing Machine?

It might take a few attempts but it will eventually reset.

However, my door now makes a double ERR noise on start up, I can't remember if it did that before or not - well if it needs an eng. it needs and eng. - is the £85 figure right regardless of what is done? - sounds a bit cheap for a new drum (say)

press and hold temp button and while holding this button switch m/c on. Then within 2 seconds press soil type button. You should now see diagnostic mode displayed with other numbers.
Providing it now displays diagnostic mode, switch off machine then switch on again normally.
Going into diagnostic mode should reset the computer. Start a new wash cycle, if f4 comes on again then you have a mechanical or electrical fault with the machine and will need a Dyson engineer, call out and all parts max charge £85.
