The dishwasher indicator light is lit.On pressing the start button no water flows. The dishwasher if left for a while indicates that something has happened as steam is in the dishwasher.
Really need more info on dishwasher, make and model etc. If machine fills with water then just steams it sounds as though the wash pump is not running. Could be just a faulty capacitor for the motor. If above is correct the machine should run to the end of prog and drain out but just not clean anything.
