no emptying of water during rinse cycle think its the clock timer?

What model Maytag is it? Nobody can give you an accurate answer when they don't know which model you are asking about. Some Maytag washers have mechanical belt driven pumps and some have electric pumps.

Can you hear the pump running ?,
have you removed,inspected the pump for a blockage ?,.

Use a multimeter and check as to whether the pump is getting a voltage supply,when its supposed to be draining,

if you have voltage at the pump and no pump action,then the pump has issues,

if no voltage at pump then you have a pcb/timer issue,or a fault with the wiring.

If you can drain the machine,does it spin ?

can you hear the lid switch click when you close the lid ?,as you can see theirs a few things to check before you suspect the pcb/timer.
