Vulcan Continental 45/60BE/DE LUXE has refused to light . Pilot light works?

My Vulcan Continental has stopped working. The pilot light is lit, the pump is working but the main gas will not power up. What has broken? Is it the thermostat? The solenoid operator (Honeywell V404A 1048 ?) or what? The model is the 45/60 BE/DE LUXE. Any help would be appreciated, as I cannot afford to replace.
