How do I re-wind pull cord on Ryobi 775R?

My pull cord on my Ryobi 775R Trimmer will not pull all the way out or sometimes will not rewind. I am reluctant to attempt to fix it with out further knowledge if the inside workings of the re-wind spool. Can anyone help me
