Mend Hitachi MSE-23 23 Off

Hitachi MSE 23 Paint peeling off?

Hi I bought this microwave for my mum,she previoulsy had a Sharp microwave which lasted 21 years.
Bought a new Hitachi MSE 23 over 3 yrs ago,then my mum complained it was sparking and that the paint was peeling off inside.
Really poor quality of finish from Hitachi,considering the excellent Sharp microwave previously.
Can I do anything to fix?
