Mend Hitachi MCB30 Microwave Turntable

Hitachi MCB30 won't turn off?

My Hitachi MCB30 won't turn off. I have to turn it off at the wall socket to stop it. As soon as power is applied at the socket it begins to work (heat up) but the turntable doesn't rotate. I have to select microwave and set a time for it to work as advertised. Its almost as if the 'Start' switch is constantly 'live'.

Same exact problem with ours, less than 2 years old. I moved it and removed some fridge magnets from the right hand side, and now it works normally again - for now!
