You'll need a timing light. Find cylinder 1 and connect the timing light in parallel with the lead and spark plug.
Slacken off the distributer so that you can rotate it by hand but it isn't too loose that it flops about.
Start the engine and point the timing light at the fly wheel where you fitted the fan belt. A white line on the fly wheel should line up with a marker point on the engine block each time the light strobes.
Simply turn the distributer body until it all comes into line and the engine sounds sweet.
