Mend Honeywell Accenta G4 Main Cut

Can the main cable be spliced on my Accenta G4?

My joiner cut through the alarm cable with his stanley knife. I spliced the cable, but can only get so far when re-setting, the panel display keeps defaulting to "Tamper Fault Lockout"
Any further efforts the alarm goes off.
Can the cable be spliced effectively and re-set and is there a re-set on the power panel?

Did you use the same colours?
Insulate the joints?
Replace the blown fuse?

And it is probably on "Engineer" reset for tampers.
