My side by side refrigerator is at 99 deg. The freezer side is at -8. ?
I have a GE model gshf5kgxccww serial # hs417237. I called some one to come to fix it. They said I need a new main board. So I bought one, and put it in. no change.
I also put a new temp sensor in each one of the places in the refrigerator side. no change.
The refrigerator side has no fan blowing into the refrigerator side. the compressor is running and the freezer is working too good. The refrigerator side feels like its heated. It starts worming up as soon as I plug it in.
As it is warming up, I would think defrost heater stuck on, that can be down to sensors, or relay/triac on power board. It will also cause your compressor to over work, to keep the freezer down. start by opening the back casing inside the fridge, screws could be hidden behind plastic plugs. careful when removing, might be some plugs that you need to undo. Two coils in there, one is the fridge evaporator, No plug on that, just pipes, other is heater, unplug, hopefully when back together, that will get the temp down. Only thing, is to watch for icing up, as without heater, no auto defrost. As to why, as above, sensor or pcb, would need test to find out, If you have a test meter, check the sensors in the section that you opened up. Go from there
