I changed the starter and the van won't start had aa to have a look and they can't find any thing wrong so someone said the timing may of jumped so i won't to check the timing i locked the cams and the crank and piston 1 is down tha.s why i wanted the firing order. Any suggestions on what my prob is thanks
did you have the crank pin into the flywheel ok?think a 7/32 drill bit fits,if you cant then get the cam pin inserted then it is likely your timing chain is stretched,if it is out a long way then it is likely it will not start,if the oil isn`t changed regularly on these then timing chain/tensioner problems will occur, was the new starter an uprated one?think a heavier duty astra starter fits these now and does make a difference, other problems are crank sensors which can get damaged due to dual mass flywheel debris damaging them, has it been on a code reader?any faults stored?filters changed regularly?if you can check the veh history and make sure it has had plenty servicing,if not suspect timing chain problems, good luck

Timing is usually set, with cylinder 1 at TDC, not bottom.
Does not start, but AA cannot find anything wrong..Does not sound right, If not starting, something is wrong, So what is AA doing. Get onto AA, That is what you pay for.
