Mend Volkswagen Golf MK4 150 GT TDI Stay Locking Car

VW golf MK4 driver indicator lights stay on after locking car?

I have a 150 GT TDI mk4 Golf (02)and the drivers side indicator lights stay on when I lock it after use. They will go out if I leave the car cool down and reactivate the fob locking cycle. Can you advise me what is the problem and how can I solve it? Thanks Paul
