Citroen C2 1.1 battery/over revving problem?

Any help would be appreciated,car wouldn`t start so got AA out,said the battery was at fault,replaced the battery and was ok for a few days until it wouldn`t start again,got a jump start and gave the motor a run and it was over revving and battery was flat again,any one had a similar problem?
