Indesit w123 washing machine timer ?

put machine on 8 cycle went to check and the timer was clicking round endlessly, turned it off, the washing was damp so it had obviously washed something.set to another cycle , it clicked round on to 8 but then nothing. Now it will not do anything at all. Not even click......
