My control knob keeps going round on my indesit Washing machine?

I had a similar machine and the knob keeps going around as if it had gone wrong, but it is not, what you do is turn the knob to a "Round Dot" any round dot along the dial will do then immidietely switch the machine off, wait for about a minute then switch back on again, the knob should not start turning any more now, all you now need doing is to select the washing programme from the dial so take the knob pointer to that programme and switch on the machine if it is not already switched on.
