02 taurus won't turn over just clicks when i try to start brand new battery?

Starter motor solenoid sticking, old trick was tap with hammer, BUT best if removed and cleaned.

Starter motor:

Leads, solenoid or the motor itself. If it's 10 years old you're probably due a new starter motor.

If the car is a manual, are you dipping the clutch before operating the starter? If not, you should. It saves wear on the starter motor. Ignore this if its an automatic of course.
