Ariston Combi Boiler 27 switching itself off?

Seems this a common fault talk to my brother and he had same problem and had to have a new boiler fitted. But I think I've found the answer it said in the manual when red light comes on it an ignition failure, so that normally means to me it not sparking right and that normally down to electrical connection been wet or dirty. Bought some connection contact spray (normal bought from good car parts supplier or electrical supplier) and sprayed every electrical contact I could see in the boiler, bit hit and miss but it worked. Boilers was running all day yesterday without any of those funny clicking sounds it was making before and started up this morning first time.
