hello can you help i need to knock the drum shaft out of my washer dryer model wd860p hotpoint ultima the bearings need changing the drum shaft is in very tight ive been banging the pulley bolt with a hammer to try to loosen the bearing on the shaft on the outside of the tub is it just a case of banging the bolt until its loose these bearings seemed to be seized up if i get the drum shaft out will i need a new drum spider i would be interested if you can offer help on this problem hotpoint do not make it easy
the bearings on this machine are sealed.
It is not possible to remove them you may as well buy a new washing machine for ÂŁ300 rather than buying a new drum + bearings for ÂŁ500 or so.

If the old bearing is rusted solid on to the bearing spider shaft then you may well need a new one when rebuilding.cost wise its usually best to cut your loses and buy a new one!!
