Replaced blower resistor on Vauxhall vectra but climate control doesnt work?

I have a Vauxhall vectra Elegance 2.0 dti

The climate control does not work on it also when I switch on the air conditiong I can feel the engine working harder but it does not work.

I have read a few threads and they advised to change the blower resistor which I have done and it still did not work.

I checked the blower motor and initially it was seized moved it with my hand and it is now moving freely.

Please help?
