why is the red alarm button on my scandinova freezer?

as long as the red LED isn't flashing the freezer is ok.because you have had a power cut the freezer needs to drop down to temp.be patient it will go off when temp is reached.you should hear the compresor running .if you cannot turn the thermostat dial down as far as it will go,you will be able to hear it click,then turn stat up to desired temp.
