how can i rectify engine light 2003 nissan almera?

Sounds just like mine,it comes and goes as it pleases.Read about it being camchain stretch but i aint paying hundreds to get that done when the car runs fine.. Ill just keep running it until the engine decides to blow its brains.. I reckon its an electrical short or glitch in the brains of the system whereas Nissan would say its the camchain... Dont worry about it,mines been running for over ten thousand miles now on and off without a problem..
