my radio wont turn on?

I took my car (peugeot 306 xr)to a peugeot dealer to get the code for my car but when they came to enter the code my car shown "----" . So they took my radio away and charged it to reset it, when i picked it up they told me it wouldnt work completly when it was turning on fine before... however the code light on my 306 radio is still flashing when i start my car? any ideas on what to do?
