Mend Stannah 300 Stair Lift

stannah stair lift 300?

The power hinge rail at the bottom of the lift fails to fully lift up. The motor seems to struggle about half way through the action and needs a helping hand to lift the hinge rail fully up right. The machine is a model 300 and is 6 six years and has had light usage. fyi i have replaced the battery in infra red controls, incase a signaling issue. But no luck.

hi there......this is a common fault on hinge model stairlifts especially stannah products.. check the 2 x gas strutts for oil leakage[this is common,these are found under the rail just up from the hinge join]gas strutts help push the hinge up aswell as the hinge motor.......hope this helps.......ian....portsmouth uk
