does a p reg citroen xantia have a catourlitrick converter on it ?

Wouldn't bother buying "cataclean", supposed to clean the catty and improve mpg, tried it on my car. Waste of money, made no difference, in fact, mpg went down instead of up, a big con. Take the car for a long run to get the catalist really hot.

Yes, if it failed on the emissions? when was it last serviced? as a new air filter, oil change and sparkplugs can help and you can buy a product called "cataclean" that will help clear the catalytic converter, also before you take it for the re-test, take the car for a trip at high engine revs to make sure the cat is at full temperature
