how do u change the door lock on my1996 transit van?

do you mean the barrell for the key?is your key/lock worn?If you have a good spare key then that may work as Ford keys do tend to wear a bit and cause problems,you will have to remove the door card to access the lock,and if i remember there is an anti theft cover to remove to get to barrell,remove large horseshoe clip and remove barrell there is a wire to the lock assy to unhook to remove the barrell completely,the new lock will have to be built up with the correct numbered discs to suit your key so would advise to take to someone who has done this before,only takes 10 minutes so shouldn`t cost too much,refit in reverse,hope this helps.
