Mend Miralec Supreme Shower Bathroom Water

My Miralec Supreme won't turn OFF after using it?

Even when the dial has been turned to the off position the water still comes through. Sometimes it just continues in a drip but a couple of times it has come through at quite a strong flow. Has something happened to the shower itself or is it the water system supplying it?

Its quite old, so normally the actual turn knob has split and therefore does not turn the stem properly. You can still get replacements-- about £13
