just fitted a thermastatic bar valve to a system with a chaffuteaux maury boiler. The hot taps activate the boiler as normal but the shower valve will not activate the boiler.if you turn a hot tap on with the valve open it works ok but as soon as you shut the hot tap the boiler stops any ideas please
It could be there isn't enough flow rate to activate flow sensor in boiler, try taking shower head off and running shower at full flow. Or it maybe the mixer is not suitable for combi boilers

hi bill there are no restricors supplied the valve has got its own non return valves inside the inlet ports i am thinking maybe i should remove the n r v in the hot feed col

Have you fitted non return valves on the hot and cold supply of the mixer and also are there any restrictors to fit inside the shower unit depending on the type of system its fitted to?
