Mend Indesit WIXL123 Power Lead Into

What is the black cylinder that the power lead goes into?

I have opened up the top (Indesit wixl123) and there is a black cylinder with a plug coming off it with 3 wires L N E. The live and Neutral are burnt. any ideas? Thanks.
