How do I reset airbag warning light on peugeot 107 and 407?

Recently, I went away for a week and unbeknown to me I left an interior light on. This drained the battery and found the car would not start. After a quick jump using jump leads the car started ok, took it for a drive round as the battery had depleted all its energy. It now starts ok but has left the legacy of airbag warning light on Peugeot 107 (06 plate) flashing and I find it most annoying. I need to know what the Peugeot dealers do if they took the battery off for several hours and this occurs. How do they fix this?

I have spoken to the dealers and all they say is bring it in as we need to run a diagnostic check. I find this to be a load of twaddle and BOL**** as they are a business that wants to charge me for something that I can do myself (baring in mind I have been a mechanic many years ago).

I have checked other forums and they suggest disconnecting the wires under the seat and after two minutes reconnect. Also disconnecting the green connector leads with a RED tab under the seats is not a straight forward plug and do not want to cause any more disruption by pulling and tugging incorrectly. If I need to do this please provide instructions so that it will not cause a fault when reconnecting?

NB: this was not a failure in the first place and the car has only done 16000 miles except my oversight of allowing the interior light to be left on. Any real help – no guesses would be much appreciated.

If this is a thing that can happen on all Peugeots, then I think Peugeot should release the information to the public as to what to do if and when you have to disconnect the battery for whatever reason or simply renew an old battery.

Disgraceful of Peugeot to add a common or known fault to make money out of a simple reset – grrr!! They even told me that a weak or old battery can cause this. So they know the fix just want to charge me for it!!!
