Mend Bissell Proheat X2 Help Not Working

Help! Bissell upholstry tool not working?

I have a Bissell proheat X2 carpet/upholstry cleaner, whilst the carpet selection works 'ok' the upholstry selection does not, it will not spray any solution or water through the hose and there is VERY little suction there. I have only used the cleaner half a dozen times and take great care when cleaning it afterwards. Any suggestions would be greatfully received.
