Recliner won't sit up?

My chair and a half size recliner works perfect to recline but won't sit back up. The back part of the chair stays reclined even thought the foot part isn't. What is wrong and can it be repaired?

Furniture, Chairs Recliner Wont Up

Put the chair on its side with the foot rest down. Open the footrest and push the back section forward, hold the back forward and close the footrest, then put the chair back upright keeping the back pushed forward. This should solve the problem.
