How to open the rear nearside door on 07 plate vw golf 1.6?

The rear nearside door of my 07 plate vw golf doesn't open when I activate the central locking. It doesn't open from either the inside or the outside once the other doors are open.

The override on the drivers door doesn't open it either.

How do I get it to open and then how can I fix it?

All suggestions gratefully received. Many thanks.

Common fault I'm afraid. The lock will need replacing. You might get into it with someone banging on the door near to the lock as you operate the remote control or the inside door lock switch. However I had to take mine to the VW dealer where it was replaced under warranty.
