I began my electronics career in 1962 and have never heard a fuse blow - they usually melt silently.
You may have heard something explode inside the machine and the explosion may have caused a fuse to self destruct.
If you live in the UK then you will definitely have a 13A fuse in the plug unless you live in an old house with 1950s style round-pin plugs. Molded-on 13A plugs have the fuse carrier underneath - on the pin side.
If the machine does not work and you heard something nasty from inside then it almost certainly needs expert attention.
Manufacturers seldom put internal fuses inside appliances for the user to change - if they do the fuse holder is always accessible from the outside - it's a health and safety thing.
