Mend Moped 50cc Peugeot

how can i fix my puegot vivacity 50cc moped?

I have a peugot vivacity 50cc moped, when i started it the other day (it has been standing for just over 12 months) fuel was leaking from the air filter (as if it is coming in from the carb) bottom.
it is also smoking an awfull lot.
Do you know what the problem might be?
(Thought it might be that the float in carb is stuck)

float might be stuck. take float bowl off and check. engine will smoke for a few minutes till oil residue in engine has burnt away. quite common in 2 stroke engines'
