Mend Ryobi RBC Starter Strimmer Cord

How does the starter spring on a Ryobi RBC strimmer go back on?

The starter cord would not rewind. I replaced the spring, but the same thing happened. I'm thinking I may have put the spring back on wrong. Anybody know or have a diagram?
