does the dephaser pulley need to be preloaded?

renault scenic 1.6 2006 already fitted dephaser but not sure if correct still have same faults other parts fitted are cam poition sensor crank position sensor timing belt and water pump the only fault code i get is camshaft A; position fault suspect i've fit the dephaser wrong but have no instructions
