kenmore series 90 will not drain?

I could I just jumper the switch for the time being till a new one gets here?

See if the lid switch is operating properly or if it is broken. My washing machine had the same problem but I was lucky enough to find the plastic tongue from the lid switch in the tub. When I stuck my hand under the lip and activated the switch by hand it started to drain and spin. For a Kenmore model 110.26912691 the lid switch part number is 3949238 and is carried by both Sears and most appliance parts shops.
