Mend Renault Espace 2.2 dci Clutch Pedal 2002

RenaulT Espace Clutch Pedal connection?

(year 2002) 52 reg authentique 2.2 dci model. 67500 miles full renault service stamps from new by previous owners the connection between the clutch pedal & rod had broken cup shaped socket agreed with a garage to modify, after 6mths. actual rod broken. can anyone advise how to replace as garage say whole system £245+ labour+vat. E-mailed Renault asked advice as heard was design fault long story short 'not design fault, anecdotal story only on web sites' also enquired about about full service inc. replace timing belt renault price £800. I cannot believe an 8 yr old with no other defects can be beyond economical repair. ps. I have removed most of dashboard etc. but cannot see how to remove clutch line. or Anyone know sensible priced renault repairers nr. croydon surrey area Any advice greatfully received.

Hello Firestarter. Thanks for tip I have looked on ebay I am starting to wonder? The part that connects to the clutch pedal is that the master cylinder? because it looks about right in carparts mountain picture which they sell for £40. as the bar has broken on mine I have not lost pressure and it was a garage that said whole system needs replacing, do you think I might have a cheaper lucky escape option, by the way still trying to take out pedal thought best not yo rush.

you can buy a complete clutch pedal assembly including the hydraulic lines and slave cylinder off e bay for about £200 and DIY (easy job but time comsuming). only problem is you have to remove dash to get to the pedal, i know this as i fixed my mates the other week. good luck
