APEX AD-1010W Flashing on/off upon disk spin up?

I turn on the APEX AD-1010W dvd/cd/mp3 player and upon disk spin up, the power shuts off, lights go dead, screen goes blank. Then after a second or so, it will kick back on and proceeds to boot up. When it tries to spin the disk again, same thing happens. My theory is that someplace in the power supply board has a cold solder joint or a part that's going out that would make this happen. I have tried the simple fixes (cleaned the laser lens, replaced the fuse, etc). What would be the next step that I would have to take in order to fix this unit? Thanks for your time.
