Mend Peugeot Speedfight Battery Charging Scooter

peugeot speedfight battery charging problem?

My speedfight doesn`t seem to be charging the brand new battery I just installed, battery lasts about three days after being bench charged however voltmeter across terminals whilst engine running is about 9 volts not sure if thats the battery voltage or the charger voltage I would have expected it to be alot higher any tips woulld be welcome,

I bet you didn't use a trickle charger and you've overheated the battery and caused the plates in one or two cells to short-out to give 9+ volts instead of about 12.75 volts.
The battery is now knackered

if its not charging it is likely to be either the regulator /rectifier or the generator that is faulty you need a garage to put a tester on it to see what is wrong.
