Mend Peugeot 405 SRTD Clutch Turbo Diesel

Adjust the clutch 1996 405 SRTD Peugeot Estate?

I own a 1996 405 SRTD Peugeot Estate turbo diesel 1900cc and would like to know if anyone could advise me how to adjust the free play on the clutch pedal. I need to press the clutch hard on the floor to select 1st and reverse gears easily.
The free play appears to be 45 to 50mm.

look at the clutch release lever on the g/box for the adjusting nut,screw in to lift pedal
