how can I fix the faulty electric windows on my peugeot 207cc?

My local garage changed the unit in the car door and the fault continued. They have reimbursed me the cost of the replacement and I now don't know what to do. How do I lubricate the channels and manually aid the window?
I am so worried that if I mess with it I won't be able to get it back up and in this weather I need to understand what I am doing.
Is this really a job for a professional?

most likely to be friction on window channels, excessive friction will cause windows to bounce when attempting to operate. lubricate all channels and manually aid windows up/down until they are freed off
